Magic, mystery, fun and party games were the order of the day in Kenny’s Pint Depot, Carnew, for the annual Aoife and Aine Memorial Fund Halloween Fancy Dress Ball. Undaunted by the bad weather people turned up in large numbers kitted out in fancy dress to support a great night, all the proceeds of which were in aid of CAN (Cottage Autism Network), Wexford and the ICU Unit at Wexford General Hospital. The Committee of the Aoife Kennedy Memorial Fund expressed their thanks to all who helped raise over €4,000 at a bag pack in Tesco, Gorey. “We would like to thank the general public and express our gratitude for their support and generosity and the total that will be handed over to the Cottage Autism Network (CAN), Wexford is €4,335 in memory of angels Aoife and Aine Kennedy.” said Caroline. OT Unit Dedicated To Aoife 2009

A Specialised Occupational Therapy Unit at St. Senan’s Primary School in Enniscorthy was dedicated to the memory of Aoife Kennedy on December 5th, 2009. The parents of the late Aoife Kennedy set up The Aoife Kennedy Memorial Fund in her honour and held a Halloween Fancy Dress night in Kenny’s Pint Depot, Carnew in October.  €6,000 was raised for the Cottage Autism Network (CAN) and St. Senans Primary School Autistic Unit in Enniscorthy. Conor Leads Liverpool Legends 2009

Eleven year old Conor Kennedy got to meet his football heroes when he led the Liverpool Legends team out at Carlisle Grounds in Bray. Conor is a fifth class student in Carnew National School and through his family’s work with Irish Autism Action, was mascot for the Liverpool Legends team. He led the team onto the pitch and also got to sit in the dugout with the players throughout the game. Hospital Gets Incubator 2008

The memory of five year old Carnew child, Aoife Kennedy, was honoured last week when a vital piece of medical equipment was donated in her name to Wexford General Hospital. Former Irish international footballer Paul McGrath was one of the celebrities on hand to see a neonatal transport incubator donated to Wexford General Hospital. He joined actor Maclean Burke, who plays Damien in Fair City, and players from the Wexford hurling and football teams at the donation of the incubator, which will ensure that babies are kept in a safe environment...
