Person of the Month Award 2011

CAROLINE KENNEDY from Carnew received the Talbot Hotel South East Radio Person of the Month award at the hotel in Wexford.

Caroline was named as December’s Person of the Month for her fundraising work on behalf of the Aoife and Aine Kennedy Memorial Fund, which has so far raised thousands of euro for children throughout Co. Wexford and beyond.

The Aoife Kennedy Memorial Fund was set up by Caroline and Matt Kennedy following the tragic death of their daughter Aoife in a traffic accident on Main Street, Carnew in November 2006 when she was five and a half years old.

Aoife’s sister Áine also died tragically in April 2010 of a suspected viral illness, also aged five and a half years old.

“The Memorial Fund is all about giving something back and helping to save another child’s life. My angels give me the energy and strength to do it. I’ll always be proud of them for who they were and what they stood for. I’d like to know that my two little girls didn’t die in vain and I want to keep their memory alive and do something worthwhile.”

said Caroline.

She also thanked the people of Co. Wexford and Wicklow for their help and support of the Memorial Fund.

“I can’t do it alone, I depend on the public and I couldn’t do it without people to help me.”

said Caroline.

The Sales and Marketing Manager of Talbot Hotel concluded:

“Caroline is a great lady, a really deserving winner. She’s been through so much and still has the strength to help others.”

said Louis Kinsella, Sales and Marketing Manager, Talbot Hotel.
